Off The Christmas Card List EP – Tatham, Mensah, Lord & Ranks

The quartet of Kaidi Tatham, Akwasi Mensah, Matt Lord and Dego return with more UK boogie and broken beats

The last time Kaidi Tatham, Akwasi Mensah, Matt Lord and (Dego) Ranks got together was on their eponymous 2012 album. Its seductive blend of broken beats, Mizell Brothers boogie and jazz-funk grooves made it one of the best LPs of that year. A first-rate recording.

Following on from that album is 2015’s Off The Christmas Card List, an EP that was only available on vinyl previously. Its songs start where Tatham, Mensah, Lord & Ranks left off, complete with Dego’s penchant for peculiar song titles.
