Flip Wilson is the alter ego of soul-jazz keyboardist Daniel Crawford. The Los Angeles-based artist uses the pseudonym for such remix projects as this free compilation.
As Daniel Crawford he’s been a busy chap, releasing The Awakening, an album of original compositions in 2014, and more recently remixing jazzy instrumental RDJ from Cy Gorman’s debut album Carmen.
On Flip Wilson Vol 1 Crawford explores a broad spectrum of styles, spanning pop (Tears For Fears and The Beatles) to R&B (Usher and Pharrell).
Highlights include Crawford’s reworkings of Erykah Badu’s Honey, Jay Z’s Change Clothes and Usher’s Good Kisser.
