Introducing From Her Eyes, a free seven-track neo soul EP from Oakland native Mara Hruby
Following the buzz-generating ploy of musicians like Zo! comes California-based songstress Mara Hruby. The young artist has released From Her Eyes, a free seven-track EP comprising covers of songs by artists such as D’Angelo, Mos Def and Jamiroquai.
She says her sound is “organic, distinct, melodic, eclectic, and filled with sensitivity”. That’s a fair summation. Highlights include StereoLab (Lose Myself) (The Roots), Send It On (D’Angelo) and Alright (Jamiroquai).
The EP, which was arranged and engineered by the Oakland native, is impressive. In an increasingly crowded music scene, From Her Eyes should improve Hruby’s visibility. Download it from here.
