The album cover may resemble a ’70s dub LP, but don’t let that fool you – Shokazulu is irie broken beats
It’s not clear who the hell Shokazulu is because even on Shokazulu’s website, his or her identity hasn’t been revealed – but most musos suspect it’s keyboardist Kaidi Tatham, he of Silhouette Brown and Bugz in the Attic fame.
This consensus is not surprising since there’s a jazzy, percussive quality to these dancefloor instrumentals that will be familiar to any fan of Kaidi’s work. Check out the tracks on this page to see if you agree.
The self-titled album is out now as an MP3 download or superior-quality CD.
