Download a free Jill Scott(ish) single by Canadian singer-songwriter Joanna Borromeo
Close your eyes and you’d be mistaken for thinking you were listening to vintage Jill Scott after hearing the first few bars of Sun Come In. But, unlike Ms Scott, Joanna Borromeo opts to develop the track into a rhodes-filled instrumental.
For a decade Borromeo has been playing keyboards and singing backup for numerous acts, while releasing her own material, which includes an album (Kaleidoscope) and an EP (Through The Dark). The Canadian singer-songwriter has also been shortlisted for a few awards, the most recent being a Juno nomination for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year.
Judging from this track, which is one of the best giveaways this year, more awards await her. You can download Sun Come In from here.
On this page is also a video teaser of Borromeo’s forthcoming single, I Don’t Mind, which promises much.
