To celebrate the launch of a spanking new website, UK label Tru Thoughts is giving away a 15-track compilation spanning soul, jazz and some dancehall ‘riddims’
One of the best contemporary labels to emerge in the past decade has been Tru Thoughts, which is based in the seaside resort of Brighton in southern England. The label is home to the likes of soulful songstress Alice Russell, young old-skool singer Harleighblu, downbeat combo Hidden Orchestra, and Dave Jones, who produces dancefloor rhythms under such monikers as Zed Bias, Maddslinky and Phuturistix.
To celebrate the launch of its spanking new website, the label is generously giving away a 15-track compilation. Highlights include Yannah Valdevit’s soulful garage hit Pick Flowers, the broken beats of Lock The Door by Hint and Nostalgia 77’s remix of Mark de Clive-Lowe’s Hooligans.
