New York sextet Space Captain releases Two, a soulful free download* with a jazzy, psychedelic twist
It’s no longer enough to give away the odd track to get noticed – it has to be a decent tune, too. And that’s certainly the case with Two by Brooklyn sextet Space Captain.
It starts conventionally enough, with a balladry beginning that belies what follows – a rhythmic switch accompanied by a jazzy, psychedelic groove that engulfs proceedings. Delicious.
Two is the single from a forthcoming EP that’s due out in early 2016 on UK label Tru Thoughts. If you can’t wait that long, check out Space Captain’s Easier and Remedy, a pair of slick neo soul tunes (in the mould of Moonchild) that was released earlier this year.
